As the youngest member of Principles First, I was honored to be invited to Michigan in May 2024 to help with their very first regional event. Before this, every Principles First event had been held in Washingon, D.C.

Although I was there to help run the event, I learned so much as well. Topics ranged from Ranked Choice Voting (RCV), to election integrity, to local Michigan politics.

It’s going to take all of us.

The problems facing my generation need to be addressed by my generation—but not my generation alone. We need to be curious and humble enough to learn from the experiences of older generations—but also confident and strong enough to show them when new ways of thinking are needed.
